HT is still a relatively new profession. Depending on your location one may or may not find available positions. That said there are a myriad of opportunities to engage in HT/TH practices within other practices (such as OT, PT, Social Work, and other therapies). There are also many opportunities for entrepreneurs to practice.

No. As of 2024 there are no membership dues. We hold meetings virtually, three times per year. All who are interested in th/ht are welcome to these meetings. We have an email listserve. There are many other events put on by our members which can be seen in the events/calendar section.
Membership in the national association, AHTA, is highly recommended for those wishing to or currently pursuing there THP or HTR.
Currently there are two designations given by AHTA:
HTR - Horticultural Therapist Registered
THP-Therapeutic Horticulture Practioner
Both designations have different requirements.
Separately there are accredited programs offering a certificate in horticultural therapy.
