Redwood City, CA

Join the Kainos Community Connections team and help adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities maximize their potential through the power of nature. We are looking for a passionate individual to lead our wellness-based horticultural therapy program.

The Role

  • Schedule: Part-time (up to approx. 10 hours/week)

  • Teaching Hours: Tuesday and Thursday mornings (9:30–11:30) plus occasional community-based field trips. 

  • Pay: $24.00/hour

  • Location: 2761 Fair Oaks Avenue, Redwood City

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and lead high-quality horticultural therapy (HT) sessions.

  • Facilitate gardening activities (in our raised garden beds) and enrichment lessons.

  • Manage a wellness-focused program for both clients and support staff.

Qualifications

  • Education: BA preferred.

  • Certification: Horticultural Therapy certificate preferred.

  • Heart: A deep passion for working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Santa Cruz, CA: Part Time TH Job working at the Stroke Center  FAll 2026

Job Opportunity:  Independent contractor sought to teach one or two therapeutic horticulture sessions per semester to students at the Stroke and Disability Learning Center. The instructor will design and deliver hands-on curriculum that accommodates varying physical abilities while promoting motor skill development, cognitive and social engagement, and emotional well-being through horticultural therapy practices.  Ideal place to dive in and learn while doing!
